Dani Sordo, Ken Block and Mathew Wilson out of competition

The first installment of the second day of competition has taken its toll on many drivers. In what is the longest stage of Rally Mexico have left no less than three World Rally Cars. The first Dani Sordo has been so far was in fourth place. The Spaniard has beaten an obstacle that was in the middle of the road and had to stop because of mechanical problems in his C4 WRC.

Mathew Wilson was another of those who failed to finish the stretch after going off track and stop his Ford Focus RS WRC stuck in a ditch with no possibility to go on track. The latest on staying out of the race in the fateful tenth stage was Ken Block. Monster Team driver broke his suspension and has also had to leave.

For the rest of the drivers, the news is that Sébastien Loeb has been promoted to lead by taking advantage of his starting position with respect to Petter Solberg and Sebastien Ogier to have dropped to the second and third. That seems to raise its head, despite starting from sixth on the starting order is Mikko Hirvonen who seems not to find the secret of the Mexican sections.

Sébastien going to attack. I’ve driven well but I still feel completely at ease and not have the confidence to attack. It’s complicated. The Citroën are very fast and is difficult to keep pace with them, but keep trying.
